Hi I’m Kelly O’Brien, a Los Angeles–based contemporary artist from the Texas Hill Country. My work is shaped by observation, emotion, and human connection, influenced by the way I experience the world as a profoundly deaf artist. I wear hearing aids and communicate primarily through lip reading, which has taught me to pay close attention to subtle expressions, movement, light, atmosphere, and the quiet details many people overlook.

I create immersive, large-scale pieces that explore memory, identity, contrast, and presence through texture, composition, and layered storytelling. My paintings are designed to bring depth, warmth, and character into thoughtfully designed homes, hospitality settings, creative environments, and private collections. Each piece is created with the intention of feeling visually striking while still deeply personal and emotionally connected.
